There has been so much negative press about Facebook lately that it seems only fair to share some good news involving the social network giant. According to a news report from Orlando, Florida, a California mother whose children were kidnapped 15 years ago was reunited with them through Facebook.

According to the mother, her husband, Faustino Utrera, kidnapped the children and told her she would never seem them again. Police confirmed that Utrera disappeared from San Bernardino, Calif., with his then 3-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son.

After searching for the children everywhere, the mother finally discovered that her daughter was on Facebook. She found her daughter’s page, added her as a friend, and they messaged back and forth. The mother then contacted the San Bernardino Deputy District Attorney. The D.A. did some additional investigation and located Mr. Utrera and the kids in Florida, whereupon the father was arrested and the children – now teenagers – were returned to their mother.
