Most lawyers these days spend an extraordinary amount of time at their computers. Let’s face it, staring at the same old desktop layout day after day can get boring. You can change your desktop’s appearance now and then by changing the wallpaper, and you can even download free wallpaper from the Internet. But, you have to be careful. If you don’t use a trusted site, wallpaper downloads are an excellent avenue for inadvertently getting viruses or malware installed on your computer. And sometimes, changing the wallpaper just isn’t what the doctor ordered.
Have you considered transforming your desktop layout to 3D? That must require some expensive software or a complicated download, right? Wrong.
Recently, I discovered an amazing product from a company called Bumptop.com. With a simple – free – download, allows you to transform your desktop into a highly productive 3D showcase, and much more. You can organize items on your desktop into piles by type, which is excellent for those of us who keep lots of different types of files and folders on our desktop.
In addition, Bumptop allows you to customize the look of your desktop in ways that changing wallpaper cannot. For example, BumpTop gives you the ability to write sticky notes on the desktop. Bumptop also provides you with quick access to your email, as well as access to social networking services like Facebook and Twitter.
I have been using Bumptop now for a little over one week, and I cannot say enough good things about it. To truly appreciate this product, however, you have to see it in action. Here is a screen shot of my desktop in Bumptop mode, which gives you an idea of what your desktop can look like with this product.
If this looks interesting to you, then I encourage you to take a look at the video at the Bumptop.com website. I started with the free version, but soon feel so in love with this product, that I had to upgrade to the pro version. If you are looking for something new and different to do with your desktop layout, then I wholeheartedly recommend this product.
For those of you who aren’t quite ready to “bump” your desktop into 3D, but are looking for some interesting wallpaper to dress up your desktop, I recommend that you check out this link, here, for free Valentine’s Day wallpaper. I also recommend that you check out Hongkiat.com, here, which always has excellent free wallpaper downloads. You can also find good wallpaper downloads at Smashingmagazine.com, here.
Disclaimer: I am not affiliated in any way with Bumptop.com, or any of its employees or representatives. I was not promised anything for writing this article, and I do not anticipate receiving anything as a result of writing this article. This recommendation is based solely on my own personal use of Bumptop’s product. The same is true of those companies and/or websites I recommended for wallpaper downloads.
If you are interested in customizing your desktop with BumpTop, you will have to get used to the idea of customizing it with Google BumpTop. Earlier this month, according to an article in Mashable.com, Google acquired BumpTop and its 3D technology. What does the Internet behemoth plan on doing with BumpTop? As the Mashable article notes, it is difficult to say at this point because Google has not really made it a habit of focusing on desktop customization. However, the BumpTop technology could have tantalizing applications for Chrome or Android. We will just have to wait and see. Stay tuned.
